Try a question from this unit
From the lesson “What Is a Unit Rate?”
A teenage girl jumps rope 150 times in 2 minutes at a steady pace. What is her unit rate in jumps per minute?
Show the answer
75 jumps per minute. Sharing 150 jumps equally over 2 minutes gives 75 jumps in each minute. The answer 300 multiplies instead of dividing, and 300 jumps would take her 4 minutes, not 1.
Hint kids see after a wrong try: “Per minute means for each single minute. Share the jumps equally among the minutes.”
